The web development can be classified into two types according to the appearance and the technology used. One is the text based or it can be said as a web site which has texts and less graphics or images. The other type of web site is the one which is eye catchy and the one which attracts users or browsers through their images or graphics. Technically these two websites are said as HTML based web site and Flash web site. There is a famous quote which says pictures speaks more than words but, according to the web world the sites developed in HTML are ranked higher than the flash web sites. Search engines cannot read flash based web site also it is very difficult to optimize a site developed in flash to rank better. But it is not impossible, harder.
The search engines love HTML, it is enough for a programmer or a technical person to optimize a web site developed in Flash to have better page ranks. The technique is called as Cloaking. In cloaking the user while browsing through the site can see the Flash version of the web site and while the search engine can see the website only as a HTML web site. That is showing user the actual web site developed in Flash and showing the search engine bots as HTML tags.
There are many server scripting languages which help in cloaking. The languages are PHP, ASP and HTAccess. The other way instead of showing two faces of a website, one to the browser and one to the search engine it is possible to have good rank for a Flash web site. It is the usage of keywords and concentrating on title tags. But the keywords should not be often repeated. It is so because the search engine may consider it as Spam. The title tags should not be longer. These are the easy way to bring up the rank of a flash web site. But above all, the user and the developer must feel comfortable while using the flash web site.
This can be said as easy navigation rather than tricky ones, rather to be an entire flash web site HTML can be combined to give a greater look to the site.
