1) Quality Content is needed if you are seeking high search engine rankings. The content should use (but not overuse) your target keywords. You can easily look at your competitor’s websites and check and use similar keywords (on the top of the web-page, select VIEW and then SOURCE and you will see a sites META tags and keywords being used). Ensure that the content is fluently written i.e. that the content does not simply list words, because Google will then penalise you for keyword stuffing.

2) Try to buy and use a domain name which has your keywords in it. If you are building a Sicily property and villas website for example, then try and buy something with Real Estate, villas or property in the domain name. This can help a little in terms of Search Engine Optimisation.

3) Try and use textual rather than graphical content where possible. If you do use images then ensure that you also use the alt tags.

7) Keep your links on your website relevant and try and use links which have a good Page-rank. Make sure the links are related to the same field.

8) Ensure you periodically update the content of your website, even if it's only a slight change, as web-sites like sites that are kept updated.

9) You need to consider the fact most search engines don't like automatic submissions or multiple submissions - submit once, manually.
